R-Studio and Shiny

Data scientists seem to be divided into R and Python camps. Both languages are well entrenched in the community and highly sought after skillsets today. If you don't know anything about R now is your chance to see what it is all about.

Before joining this codelab please install R-Studio:

  1. First install R 3.3.2 itself from https://cran.rstudio.com/
  2. Then install the latest R-Studio from https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download3/
  3. Finally, from within R-Studio install the "caret" package

If you are using a Mac and at any stage receive an error message about guntar not being found, open a terminal and issue:

sudo ln -s /usr/bin/tar /usr/bin/gnutar
Joe Reeve
Tango Augmented Reality Platform.

We'll learn about the underlying technology and how to build upon and combine many of the examples to build unique and personal apps. The key point we want people to understand is how easy it is to build seemingly complex apps.

Because there is currently a very small number of devices that are built to work with the Tango Platform, we'll need to do most of the work using an emulator and share our Tango Tab. Please make sure you have gone through these setup instructions if you want to do any development on the day:

Codelabs 15:15 - 16:15
Atif Khan
Introduction to Angular 2
Before the codelab please ensure you have installed node/npm and have access to a GCP account. If you don't have a GCP account you can get a free trial from: https://console.developers.google.com
Robert Kubis, Sharif Salah, Gustav Maskowitz
Panel discussion: Ask a Googler about Big Data, GCP, Kubernetes or ML!
